Kem cho Aunty! Majama Cho?
Sorry to bother you in the middle of your chai break or while you’re making yet another batch of rotis (because we both know one batch is never enough).
I want to share something exciting with you—I’m starting a new blog called “Kem Cho Aunty!”
You might be thinking, “Aa su navu kaam chalu?” (What new thing is this now?), so let me explain. As a Gujarati living outside Gujarat, I’ve realized how hard it can be to keep up with all our wonderful traditions in this modern world. Between busy schedules, Netflix binges, and pretending to be healthy with quinoa bowls (yes, I have been there!), staying connected to our roots sometimes feels like juggling a dandiya stick in one hand and a smartphone in the other.
That’s where Kem Cho Aunty steps in! This blog is my way of blending the best of our traditions with today’s fast-paced world. The Ultimate chai-time corner, where Gujarati culture meets modern-day madness! From garba steps with a modern twist to Gujaratis making food reels go viral, we’re keeping traditions fresh and fun! Let’s face it, the world’s evolving, and so is the way we hold onto our roots!
But, Aunty, this blog isn’t just about me. It’s a tribute to you—the keepers of our traditions, the storytellers of our past, and, of course, the unofficial food critics of our lives. I want the world to see our culture the way you’ve shown it to me: vibrant, loving, and full of laughter (with some drama here and there, obviously!).
So, I kindly ask you to bless this venture, and be my first reader. I hope to receive your “Bahu saras kaam chhe!” soon! Also, don’t hesitate to send suggestions—you know I can’t argue with your wisdom (or your volume level).
Until then, keep spreading your charm and keep saying “Kem Cho?” with that infectious smile of yours.
Majama rehjo!
